Third Grade Information

COMMUNICATION - Email is the fastest and easiest way for us to keep in contact with you.
If you do not check email daily this is something we need to be aware of.  The school webpage
and the class webpage is updated weekly and contains everything you need to know about what
is going on in our classes. There is also link to both at the top of the blog. MES and Ms.
Dawson Third Grade.
PLANNERS - All homework assignments will be written in the planner daily! Also, please
check the calendar in your child’s planner EACH DAY!!! This will show you what “color”
your child was on for the day. No mark will indicate good behavior for that day. Your child’s
planner will be kept in his/her binder along with a folder. Please check the binder daily as well,
and encourage your child to put all homework assignments back in the binder each night so they
will know where to find them the next morning.
TRANSPORTATION - If your child needs to do something other than what you specified
on the transportation form, you must send a note, email us, or call the school before 2:00.
If I have not responded to your email, please assume I have not checked or received it and
call the office immediately to make changes.
GRADES - Grades are posted to the computer weekly. You can check your child's grades
through STI at any time. Tests in all subject areas are weighted more heavily than class work
and homework.
ABSENCES AND MAKE UP WORK – All absences require an excuse that must be written
by the parent or doctor and sent to school on the day the student returns. Students must complete
any assignments that were missed.
HOMEWORK - Please assist your child with homework to assure adequate practice on
skills that have been taught in class.
Thanks for your assistance!
Let’s have a great year!!!
